This garden is of the “ chisen style ” with a pond at its center and using a garden technique called “shakkei” that taking in the scenery of distant mountain. The natural landscape of water that flows from the mountain through the waterfall to the pond is made by traditional landscaping technology.

Design of Japanese Garden

At the entrance to the garden, we set up a stone lantern and a Kinkakuji fence to made the Japanese exhibition impressive. The entire garden will appear at the Hashizume square, where is down the slope along Kinkakuji fence.
When you view the garden from the garden path reaching to the exhibition hall from the Hashizume square, the magnificent mountain range in the distance will be on the front, and the trees that appear like mountain forests will continue to the west of the garden. In the northwest corner, it shows the scene of the river flowing from the back of the forest into the sea. The pond was made shallow and was made unaware of the water border covered with pebble stones.

We placed an exhibition hall on the east side of the garden. In the hall we displayed cut flowers and bonsai. We make the west side of the building wide opened, and in front of that, we placed a beach (which resemble rough shoreline), stone lantern, stone washbasin, and the garan-stone (the foundation stone used as stepping stone) that would be a sign of friendship between Japan and China to connect the exhibition hall and the garden with teahouse garden.
On the north side of the garden, we set up an open space for traditional Japanese dance, and created a place to introduce Japanese culture for further expansion of exchanges between China and Japan.
